What Not-for-Profit Organizations Have Told Us about The Dayton Foundation
Nearly 100 percent of all recently surveyed constituents said that The Dayton Foundation is a highly respected organization. This is among the many findings that came from random anonymous surveys of nearly 500 Foundation constituents, including not-for-profit organizations, donors, financial advisors and estate planners, and other community people who are on our mailing list.
The Foundation got high marks for:
the capability of its managers and staff,
excellent documentation and accounting of donor funds,
a high level of overall customer satisfaction,
effectively meeting the needs of the community,
being a valuable resource for charitable estate planning,
a high level of overall customer satisfaction,
communications with these constituent groups,
cost effectiveness,
our work as a partner to the nonprofit community,
among other factors.
The profile drawn from the not-for-profit community was enlightening. The importance placed upon the following services that the Foundation provides to them has grown tremendously since local not-for-profit organizations were surveyed last in 1993: our grantmaking role; our endowment building services; our advice to not-for-profits on development and marketing and promotion of endowment funds; and the Foundation's capability to bring various not-for-profits together to focus on community issues.
