Better Business Bureau (www.dayton.bbb.org) — offers an accreditation through its local Charitable Advisory Service, which provides comprehensive information about Greater Dayton charities. The information your BBB provides includes summaries of the organizations' programs, governance, fundraising practices and finances, as well as other valuable information to help inform prospective donors. Transparency is an important component when approaching funders. BBB Charity Accreditation enables participating organizations to assure their donors they are operating responsibly.

The Ohio Association of Nonprofit Organizations (www.oano.org) — provides leadership, education and advocacy to enhance the ability of Ohio's nonprofit organizations to serve their communities. OANO carries out its mission by serving as a voice on public policy issues, providing training seminars on nonprofit management, securing sample policies and procedures for member organizations, offering member savings and group purchasing programs and providing one-on-one technical assistance to members.
