Many community-minded friends and benefactors of The Dayton Foundation have made plans to remember the Foundation after their lifetime. Too often, such gifts go unrecognized because they come at the end of the donors' lives.

To thank these donors and recognize them for their foresight and commitment to the future of our community, The Dayton Foundation established the Frederick C. Smith Legacy Society. The Legacy Society is in honor of Frederick C. Smith, a former chair of the Foundation's Governing Board and retired chairman of Huffy Corporation.

The Legacy Society was named after Mr. Smith because of his philanthropic leadership, his creative use of the Foundation over the years and for his tireless work on behalf of the community.

Becoming a Legacy Society member is easy. All we ask for is a statement of establishment or intent to leave a gift to the Foundation through a bequest, charitable trust, life insurance or another planned gift option. Your membership can be anonymous, if desired.
