Strengthening Our Community…Together
Since 1921, The Dayton Foundation has been bringing people together and using available resources to help strengthen the Greater Dayton Region. Through our partnership with local and regional agencies, by pooling the financial resources of our donors and by awarding discretionary grants to not-for-profit organizations, the Foundation and our donors are responding to the issues and needs affecting our region. Some ways that The Dayton Foundation has worked include: • developing innovative and nationally-recognized programs and services to assist donors and to help charities (More about the Legacy Partnership Program, African-American Community Fund, Charitable Checking AccountSM Service, Family Foundation PlusSM and Family Foundation PlusSM-Advised);• convening and collaborating with others to help find solutions to important community issues (More about our leadership initiatives). This includes playing a key role in creation The Job Center, an internationally-recognized employment and training center in Montgomery County (More about our current and historical accomplishments); and • awarding discretionary grants to not-for-profit organizations to benefit the Greater Dayton Region (More about our discretionary grant recipients and recent discretionary grant awards).
